SDD Signage & Wayfinding
Phase Two of the Dubrovnik Student Dormitory. Deliverables include: Signage and wayfinding across the whole property, developed after the visual identity was in place. Deliverables include architectural indoor and outdoor signage, wayfinding system, custom pictograms, fire safety, disability, garage and technical signage, vendor sourcing and print coordination.

Challenge
A multifunctional building where a resident student and a first-time summer guest need the same sign to work. One knows the place, one arrived twenty minutes ago and may not read Croatian. Navigation had to be immediate for both, across exterior and interior, while carrying the brand identity rather than sitting on top of it.
Outcome
Signage and wayfinding were resolved across exterior and interior spaces as one system. Custom pictograms replaced text where language would slow a visitor down, and they have since become how residents and staff refer to the facilities themselves—the marker is now the name. Developed alongside the architecture and interior design teams, the system was designed into the building rather than applied to it.
