Client: Student Dormitory Dubrovnik, Croatia, EU

A new mixed-use development seeking its credibility among institutional brands and booking platforms.

Challenge

A privately operated student dormitory in Dubrovnik with one building and three audiences. Domestic students through the academic year, visiting professors alongside them and international tourists through the summer. The brand had to read as credible to all three without diluting for any of them, hold its own against the university, the city institutions and the national tourist board it would be seen next to, and convert on booking platforms against established hotels in a town that already knows what it's selling.

Outcome

The first season booked out fast. Local and national press covered the launch, and the new identity stood shoulder to shoulder with the university, the hotels and the Croatian tourist board—a private operator reading as an equal to institutions decades older. The work was developed alongside the architecture and interior design teams throughout, so the brand and the development were resolved together rather than one applied to the other. Suppliers were sourced and managed across print, signage, smart room keys, uniforms, presentation folders and promotional packaging, and the client arrived at an international trade show fully equipped. The identity guidelines are now used as a working design catalogue: ordering branded items became a decision, not a negotiation.
